Cole Engineering Acquires XCG Water

(TORONTO, May 1, 2017) Cole Engineering Group (CEG) acquired XCG’s water consultancy and training business. This acquisition supports CEG’s vision to become Ontario’s leader in water, wastewater and stormwater management, water resources engineering and watershed management, municipal planning studies, collection and distribution system analysis and environmental services.

“We are excited about the addition of XCG Water to the Cole family. The merger will create a water group of more than 200 planners and engineers that deliver high value engineering and advisory services in planning, water infrastructure and community resiliency,” said Mohsen Mortada, Chief Executive Officer of CEG.

XCG’s water team brings a long and rich history to CEG. Founded in 1990 and operating out of offices in Oakville and Kitchener, they have well-established relationships with a number of leading municipal and provincial clients across Canada and the United States. By joining CEG, XCG’s staff will continue in similar roles with greater opportunity to broaden their skills working with the new team.

“Our clients will now have access to the broad set of skills needed to take projects from the planning and conceptual design stage all the way through to implementation and meaningful outcomes for communities. The merger will significantly strengthen our ability to provide local expertise across Ontario on projects of all sizes and further solidifies Cole’s position as consultant of choice” said Christine Hill, former XCG Partner and Secretary of Consulting Engineers of Ontario (CEO) joining the Cole team.
