COLE is extremely proud to announce we have been named as one of the winners of the 2018 Canada’s Top Employers for Young People.

Organized by Canada’s Top 100 Employers Project, this special designation recognizes employers nationwide who offer an array of progressive initiatives that focus on attracting and retaining young talent. Employers are evaluated by the editors in terms of career management, mentorship, training and benefit programs and look at the average age of employees to better understand the composition and profile of their workforce.

COLE prides itself on being a progressive employer and has a long standing practice of hiring numerous co-op students from local universities and colleges. We have found over the years that hiring students from local colleges and universities results in a deeper connection to the community, and brings energy and passion to the project team. We focus on hiring the best talent and invest in that talent for long term success.

Young Professionals Group (YPG): The YPG’s main objective is to provide opportunities for overall improvement of professional & technical skills and to network within the office. The group offers a variety of opportunities including; site field trips and industry conferences; social events and activities, lunch & Learns and an exam and material bank for the PEO and OACETT Professional Practice Exam.

Fun and Games: COLE provides employees the opportunity to maintain and enhance their well-being through the participation of various organized sports teams and events; which include monthly social hours, annual golf tournament and team building events, charity fundraising and barbeques and various organized sports leagues. We are also pleased to offer all staff access to our games room which houses a pool table, table tennis and foosball.

Career Development Plan: We have established formal communication opportunities for staff to discuss their aspirations and achievements. The CDP ensures supervisors and the company understand your career aspirations so your project assignments can be directed to compliment your goals.

Professional Development: Supporting the achievement of attaining an industry related professional designation and/or participating in industry related associations and memberships is important to the continuous growth of our team. Support mechanisms are in place such as mentorship and reimbursement programs.

Wellness Program: Our Wellness Program provides a full complement of services including an on-site gym facility and personal trainers, health professionals such as chiropractor, osteopath, massage therapist, or naturopathic doctor and regular on-site optometrist visits with full optical services.
