URBAN MUNICIPAL INFRASTRUCTURE

As our communities grow, so does the need for improved or new transportation systems and facilities. Function is no longer the sole criterion; now particular attention must be paid to route selection, planning and environmental assessment of solutions for all modes of travel. COLE’s Transportation team addresses these complex issues through comprehensive services from feasibility studies, design through to construction and operations for provincial, regional and local municipal transportation authorities. We undertake various traffic and transportation investigations and studies to determine solutions to transit and traffic issues, parking issues and pedestrian safety. These services are necessary to sustain vehicular and pedestrian movement within urban and rural environments.

Planning

The need for transportation solutions spans the spectrum of system planning, infrastructure design, construction, operations and asset management. Today’s transportation strategies and designs include the need to address a wide array of environmental, community and fiscal constraints. The ability of government agencies, private developers and operators to adequately fund, effectively co-ordinate and efficiently deliver these transportation services is an increasing challenge. COLE provides sustainable transportation solutions to meet these needs. We recognize that transportation plans, designs and implementation strategies must be realistic and feasible from environmental, operational and financial perspectives.

Our commitment is to provide transportation services that are comprehensive in approach, have regard for local context and reflect best practice. We draw from a strong research base to provide innovation and advice to our clients.
